Political Prositution

There is a growing culture of corruption and elitism when it comes to politics in Connecticut.  Elected officials have betrayed the citizens of Connecticut for the last decade. They have failed to keep commitments or provide the districts they serve with solutions to decrease the stark urban inequalities and the never ceasing unemployment rate.

A new generation of corrupt politicians is seeking office in the upcoming election; who can the people trust to solve Hartford, Connecticut’s deep social problems? What State Representative or Senator will be committed to an agenda that concerns itself with health, income and the future prospects of all its citizens? Since state legislatures define the powers of city government, we must elect state representatives that will address the social problem “poverty, no one wants to be on welfare! No one wants to hear a politician exclaim —“get a job”, “help yourself”, the people want to know where there is employment.

Government action is essential to solving social problems and devising public policies. There is a need for the Governor, Senators, State representatives, Mayor and the Common council to improve the living standards of the down trodden citizen.  No person is free whose family must buy food today with money that is earned next week. No person is free when there is no job available to provide the basic necessities of life.  Freedom means more than the right to chose employment; the chief restrictions placed upon liberty are economic and political.

To have freedom all individuals must be able to provide their families with all the necessities and the reasonable comforts of life; they must be able to educate their children and to provide during sickness, health, and old age. In order to be independent we must free ourselves…we must demand jobs. How can a person participate in the consumer economy if there is no economic development?

There is a need for government action to improve the living standards of the down trodden citizens source of revenue in Hartford, CT. We need Politicians to address urban problems and the insecurities of citizens who are forced to watch mothers bury children before they reach the age of twenty-five. No resident living in Hartford should vote for a politician who has failed to create social legislation that alleviates urban problems.

There is no economic independence in Hartford, Connecticut; Political prostitution has turned the State of Connecticut’s capital city Hartford into a welfare colony. Political Prostitutes have become unproductive parasites when it comes to being a voice for all persons of color. Voters in Hartford deserve a real voice in establishing economic development, including wages, economic development, including wages, working conditions, the relocation of factories and layoffs.

Political Prostitutes use their color and voices to breed social disparity, nestled in urban landscapes embedded with corrupt politicians. Little do they know…every vote is not for sale in Hartford, CT. All the elected officials of color can be linked to the political prostitutes; many have been endorsed by them.

Since I am politically disenchanted with the prostitutes, I would like to urge people to spoil the ballot don’t vote for the politician that was not endorsed by the political prostitute. Never forget about the sacrifices of those who fought for democracy over decades of racial conflict.

For us, the right to vote is a coveted prize that was earned under difficult and painful circumstances. Let’s come together in the memory of honest civil rights leaders to remove corrupt officials from office, it will take the people to vote.
